WS : Tell what your roles are at Mama Goodness (and in life).
J : Mum, cookbook author and Co-Founder of Mama Goodness
V : Naturopath, Birth and Postpartum Doula and Co-Founder of Mama Goodness
WS : The working title for your future memoir is....
J : Never stops, diaries of a chronic overachiever
V : Wine & Gym
WS : The most underrated thing about working in your industry?
J : The feedback. Nothing makes my heart sing like a love note from my loyal cookbook fans or a new mum who has received a pack from us. That’s what makes it all worth it.
V: Connecting with so many other inspiring women-led and family focused small businesses! Being able to take ourselves for midweek coffee dates (freelancer life!) to pow-wow about business and soak up all the beautiful emails and messages we receive from Mamas after feeding them every Tuesday. Nothing is more rewarding than being a part of this community.
What are you both working on?
J : I’m in the final phases of my third cookbook - Vegan One Pot Wonders - which will be released in September. I started Mama Goodness last spring and we have just moved into the kitchen at Worksmith and are ready to take things up a notch, with many new offerings for the new mums of Melbourne. I’ve also got another cookbook, a potential cooking show and a spice blend biz in the pipelines so.. I’m busy!!
V : I’m excitedly starting private practice as a Naturopath next month after spending the past year incorporating my skills into my Doula packages. These are also growing to offer postpartum and pregnancy loss support - which comes off the back of recently completing the Dynamo Doula Training which has greatly expand my passion and knowledge.
Mama Goodness has THE most exciting year ahead now that we are at Worksmith. Plenty of products and packages are being created with a whole heap of love as we speak!
WS : Favourite person, you've collaborated with?
J : My Mama Goodness business partner, Vaughne Geary. We are a dream team and I regularly write love notes about our partnership on Instagram.
V : My work wife and life Doula - Jessica Prescott. Our stars aligned when we joined forces and it has made Mama G a wonderful wild ride with the perks of a blooming friendship thrown in to the lactation cookie mix.
WS : If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
J : Chocolate!
V : A big bowl of pho with all the fresh and spicy toppings
