Woolworths announced this morning that it will hire up to 20,000 new staff across the country to keep up with increased demand. This comes after thousands of people nation-wide have been let-go temporarily and permanently from their jobs.
With a focus on those displaced workers from the hospitality and tourism sectors, the supermarket giant is looking for store staff, supply chain workers, call centre operators and staff for home delivery services, with roles expected to be filled in the next month.
"These are uncertain times for many industries and we have an important role to play keeping Australians employed through this crisis," Woolworths Group CEO Brad Banducci said in a statement on Friday.
